Art for every garden - the Nelson family who found a creative outlet in steel
Brendon & Jane Harley - a husband and wife team who are passionate kiwi gardeners with a creative eye and flair for all things metal. Our shared enthusiasm for art, landscaping, and creating metal artworks for our own Nelson garden, quickly evolved into Grounded Art NZ – where you will now find us designing and creating high quality and original metal art and sculpture for Aotearoa homes and gardens.
Much of what we create is a reflection of our beautiful surroundings and cultural influences here in New Zealand. We are not trying to replicate or replace anything in nature – we aim to reflect the beauty and diversity found in New Zealand’s natural environment and enhance this with our art & sculpture.

Native New Zealand flora enjoyed on our outdoor hunting & fishing adventures, and Jane’s Ngai Tahu roots have been big influences in what we’ve created so far. Our designs & design names embrace a very natural, native New Zealand vibe - we love having both striking and bold contemporary designs that make a statement as well as more subtle, elegant and rustic designs & pieces that nestle into the landscape. There’s something for everyone and for every style of home and garden.
We have been part of some amazing gallery spaces and met some wonderful people with this journey – this is something that will forever be a part of our life experience.
Grounded Art has provided such an enjoyable platform for us to be creative & work together, we are truly passionate about what we create. We still get such a buzz seeing our work heading off into homes & gardens all over NZ & overseas. Grounded Art NZ Garden Art & Sculpture – an adventure that has really ‘grounded us’ as a family & continues to enhance & inspire others from the ground up!
